Gov. Ayo Fayose
Fayose wades in, appeals to students Olakiitan Victor in Ado Ekiti
There was protest on Thursday in Ado Ekiti, the capital city of Ekiti
state, as students of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, (EKSU)
trooped to the streets in opposition to the N10,000 late registration
fee slammed on them by the management.
The placards-wielding protesters also denounced the closure of their porters, epileptic power supply in both the school and hostels and imposition of an entrepreneur fee of N5,000. The students blocked the popular Ado-Iwiroko-Ifaki road and marched through the popular Adebayo street, a distance of about four kilometres, singing anti-management songs, and blocked the major roads, forcing motorists to take alternative routes.

The police, led by Police Commissioner, Mr Taiwo Lakanu, however,
foiled attempts by the students to march to the Governor's Office to
see Governor Ayodele Fayose. The police later tear gassed the
aggrieved students as they insisted on marching to the Governor's
Office.
