12.4m Registered Voters Yet To Collect Their Voters’ Cards

According to ThisDay, over 12.4 million registered voters are yet to collect their voter cards. In a table released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the commission said that over 56,350,776 registered voters or 81.87 per cent had collected their PVCs out of the total 69,933,476 registered voters. By the INEC table of the distribution of the PVCs, Ogun, Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory are still lagging behind in the collection of the PVCs. For instance in Lagos State, out of 5,822,207 registered voters, only 3,799,274 voters, representing 65.25 per cent had collected their PVCs. In Ogun State, out of 1,829,230 registered voters, only 1,053,230 voters had collected their voting cards. This represents 57.57 per cent of those that collected their PVCs.  This leaves behind more than 12.4 million eligible voters that are yet to collect their voters’ cards. In the same manner, only 569,109 voters had collected their PVCs in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) out of the 881,472 registered voters. This represents 64.56 per cent of those that had collected their voters’ cards. This is unlike the situation in Abia State where 1,183,127 or 84.74 per cent had collected their PVCs, while in Adamawa State 1,381,571 or 88.62 per cent had collected their voter cards.
