Jonathan Fires FIRS Chairman, Appoints New Chairman

President Jonathan on Wednesday sacked the Executive Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) Alhaji Kabiru Mashi and replaced him with the Coordinating Director at FIRS, Mr. Samuel Ogungbesan. Ogungbesan's appointment takes immediate effect. Mashi had served as acting Executive Chairman of the agency since 2012.
Ogungbesan’s appointment was announced through a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati.
